Gardai in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to a shooting and a hit and run last night.
Just before 10 o'clock a man who was cycling on James Joyce Street in the city was hit by a silver Ford Focus with a 08 CN 6682 reg.
The victim managed to flee the scene on foot and went to Peader Kearney House on Railway Street for help.
While locals were administering first aid a man - believed to be the driver of the car - approached the victim and shot him a number of times.
The man then ran up Railway Street in the direction of Amiens Street.
He's described as being tall, slim to medium build and was wearing a dark top over a grey hooded top, dark bottoms and dark runners with a white sole.
Gardaí at Store Street are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
