A 45 year old man has been hospitalised after getting into difficulty in the water in Ballincollig Regional Park in County Cork.

The man was swimming at the Park after 7pm and vanished beneath the surface.

He was found unconscious 15 minutes later.

Emergency services were alerted and he was rushed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
