An 18 year old man has been arrested after an attack in Tipperary left another man fighting for his life in hospital.
The victim - a 66 year old man was discovered at a house at Kilcaroon outside the village of Ballyporeen just before a quarter to three yesterday afternoon.
It's understood he had suffered serious head injuries and was rushed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
The scene has been cordoned off for a forensic examination.
Gardai later arrested an 18 year old man in Cahir for questioning -he's being held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. and can be held for up to 24 hours before being charged or released.
Investigations are continuing, and any witnesses are being asked to contact Gardai.
