A man has died while scuba-diving off the South-East coast.
The incident happened shortly before 6pm when two snorkellers got into difficulty in Ardmore in County Waterford.
Emergency services were alerted, and crew from the Coast Guard Rescue helicopter airlifted the men to safety.
One of the men, a man in his late 30s, was transferred to Waterford University Hospital where he later died.
The other man was uninjured.
A post mortem will be carried out on the man's body in the morning.
