One man's in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in Dublin.

The man, aged in his late teens, was found with apparent gunshot injuries to the head at 11.00pm on Friday night in the front garden of a house at Shancastle Park in Clondalkin.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital, where gardaí say he remains in a serious condition.

The scene is sealed off and an investigation is under way.

In a separate and unrelated incident, another man in his late teens received a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

This followed an incident where shots were fired into a house at Barnwell Drive in the Ballymun area at 2.25am on Saturday.

He has been taken to the Mater Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information on the incidents, to contact them.
