A man's been taken to hospital after a single vehicle collision on Dublin's northside in the early hours of the morning.

He was the driver of a vehicle which hit a wall outside the gates of Beaumont Hospital just after 3am.

The man was seriously injured and the road is closed in both directions to allow a forensic examination of the scene.
