Gardaí are investigating after a man was shot in a gangland style hit in Tallaght last night.

The victim in his 20s was sitting in a car outside a house at The Grove in the Kingswood Heights area at around half six when he was attacked by a lone gunman who approached him on foot.

The injured man was driven to Tallaght Hospital, but his life isn't thought to be in danger.

A technical exam of the scene is being carried out and an appeal has been issued for witnesses.
