A 65 year old farmer has been injured in a shooting in County Limerick.

The man was shot in his shoulder at around 11am near Kildimo in what's believed to have been a dispute over land.

His dog was shot dead in the incident.

A man in his 70s was arrested and is being detained at Newcastle West Garda Station.
