An investigation is under way into the death of a man in his 30s, who was hit by a Garda Patrol car in Co. Louth.
It happened outside Bellurgan, shortly after 1 o'clock this morning.
The Garda Ombudsman is investigating.

At around 20 past 1 this morning a pedestrian in his 30s was knocked down by a Garda patrol car on the main Carlingford to Dundalk road, just outside Bellurgan.
A spokesperson for the Garda Ombudsman Commission has said the man was declared dead at the scene.
The incident has now been referred to the GSOC, which has sent a team of investigators to the scene to carry out a forensic collision investigation.
The the stretch of road remains closed this morning and diversions are in place.
