A man in his 50s has died in a road crash in Dublin.

The motorcyclist died after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car this morning.

It happened shortly after 10:30am on the N4 inbound at Lucan on the Ballyowen exit.

The motorcyclist was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead

The occupants of the car were not injured.

Gardaí in Lucan are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
