A motorcyclist in his mid 30s was killed in a single vehicle crash in County Kerry last night.
The incident happened near the village of Ballyheigue (PRON: Bally-hague) in North Kerry.
The man appears to have lost control of his motorcycle and crashed at a grotto - about two miles outside the village.
He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 7pm.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out at University Hospital Kerry in Tralee.
The road linking Tarbert and Tralee remains closed for a forensic examination.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Gardai.
