Gardaí are questioning a man in connection with the murder of a 64 year old man in the Dublin Mountains.

His body was discovered close to a forest track on Ballinascorney Hill in Brittas on the Dublin-Wicklow border on Friday morning.

The discovery was made after the man's family had reported him as missing on Thursday.

A post mortem examination took place at Tallaght Hospital which led Gardaí to launch a murder investigation.

A 41 year old man was arrested yesterday afternoon in connection with the murder investigation.

He is being held for questioning at Tallaght Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
