A man is being treated in hospital in Co Kerry for stab wounds after he encountered an intruder at his home in Tralee.
The incident happened at a house in Woodbrook lawn in Monavalley at 10 to 6 this morning.
Gardai are at the scene.
The man's injuries are described as non life threatening.
