A man remains in critical condition in hospital after a serious assault in Cork yesterday evening.
The man, aged in his 20s, was found on the road in Glenwood Estate in Carrigaline at around 5:30pm
He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A man in his late teens has since been arrested and is being held at Togher Garda Station.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly road users who may have camera footage of the incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the estate or the wider area between 5pm and 5:45pm yesterday evening is also being urged to make contact.
