A man remains in Garda custody this morning in connection with the death of a man in Waterford.

Gardai were called to a house in Portlaw yesterday afternoon, following reports of an incident, and discovered the man in his 50s.

He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford, where he was pronounced dead.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene.
