A 39 year old Romanian man has sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a 42 year old father of four whose body was found tied up in the River Bandon in Co Cork.

Ciprian Grozavu of Bridge House in Bandon had denied a charge of murdering Englishman, John Forrester at Bridge House on November 12th 2011.

But this afternoon the jury at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork unanimously found him guilty of Mr Forrester's murder.

The jury had been told at the outset of the trial that a co-accused, Catherine O'Connor previously pleaded guilty to Mr Forrester's murder.

And today after they returned their verdict, they heard that Grozavu and O'Connor were also convicted of the murder of another man, Jonathan Duke a day after they killed Mr Forrest.

Mr Justice Paul Carney imposed the mandatory life sentence on Mr. Grozavu.
