A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a shooting in Crumlin, Dublin.

Gardaí say the man, who is in his early thirties, was shot a number of times at a house on Stannaway Road in the early hours of this morning.

He is receiving treatment at St James' Hospital.

The scene has been sealed and a technical examination is due to be carried out later.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them at Sundrive Road Garda Station.
