A man's in hospital after being shot in Dublin last night.

Gardai and emergency services were called to a house at Raheen Drive in Cherry Orchard shortly before 9 pm.

There they found a 42 year old man who had suffered a gunshot wound, and he was rushed St James Hospital in a serious condition.

Investigations are continuing.
