A man in his sixties has been stabbed to death in Dublin.

The alarm was raised at half two this afternoon, when gardaí were called to the scene of the attack at Robinsons Court on Cork Street.

The victim was taken to St James' Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Robinsons Court area this afternoon to contact them with any information.

The State Pathologist has been notified and the Garda Technical Bureau is examining the scene.
