A man is still in custody this morning after a woman was attacked in Limerick at the weekend.

The 37 year old woman was found with suspected stab wounds at a house in Hassets Villas in the Thomondgate area of the city in the early hours of yesterday morning.

She's in a critical but stable condition.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being held at Henry St Garda Station.
