There's been an 'unbearable' surprise for one pet owner in China.

The man who spent two years caring for a pair of puppies has realised he was actually raising two bears.

The "puppies" were bought from a mysterious Vietnamese stranger a few years ago.

There was apparently nothing unusual about the pets until one day they killed and ate their owner's pet chickens.

But even that wasn't enough of a clue - It took a pamphlet about endangered species for the man to realise that his "dogs" were actually Asian black bears.
