March saw the highest number of patients on trolleys ever in the latest figures from the INMO.

There were 9 thousand 3 hundred and 81 patients on trolleys during March this year - double the figure for March 2008.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says this shows that despite all the initiatives to deal with overcrowding to date, the health service still faces intolerable numbers.
