Irish abuse survivor Marie Collins has resigned from a Vatican panel set up to fight sex abuse in the church.

She's blaming a 'shameful' lack of co-operation for her decision to step down.

In her resignation letter Ms Collins said she was impressed with Pope Francis' genuine wish to tackle the issue, but claimed there were constant setbacks.

The Archbishop of Dublin has paid tribute to her saying victims and survivors owe her an enormous debt for the work she has done.

Dr Diarmuid Martin says despite opposition and resistance she remained committed to the cause.
