British Prime Minister Theresa May says the UK will trigger Article 50 and start the formal process of leaving the EU before the end of March.

She made the announcement ahead of the British Conservative party conference in Birmingham.

Mrs May has also indicated plans to repeal the legislation which originally brought the UK into the EU.

She says current European Union legislation will be enshrined into British law.
