The Coalition to Repeal the 8th Amendment says removing it would not result in abortions on demand.
The group met in Dublin today to discuss why they believe a referendum should be held to remove the 8th amendment.
The amendment - which was inserted into the Constitution in 1983 - upholds the right of life of the unborn as equal to that of a mother's.
However, the Taoiseach last night said he wouldn't call a referendum until an appropriate wording to replace the 8th amendment is carefully examined.
