Two workers who were staging a protest up a tower crane in Co. Dublin for the past 3 nights descended from the crane today.

However their trade union Unite, while welcoming their decision to end their protest, insists the fight for proper pay and conditions at the site will continue.

The men had been occupying the crane at at the JJ Rhattigan site at Kishoge Community College in Lucan.

Unite spokesperson Tom Fitzgerald said the workers were being paid less than 5 euro per hour - and this system must end.
