David Bowie and Radiohead are the early favourites to win this year's Mercury Prize.

The shortlist of 12 albums was released today.

Bowie's final album Blackstar was released in January, two days before his death at the age of 69.

Radiohead have received a fifth nomination for their album A Moon Shaped Pool.

Other artists nominated for the £25,000 prize include Laura Mvula, The 1975 and Michael Kiwanuka.
