The Minister for Finance has confirmed he has undergone treatment for skin cancer.
Michael Noonan says he has completed five weeks of radiotherapy for a sarcoma on his shoulder, which has since been removed.
The minister, who is 71, says his medical team is upbeat about his prognosis and that there is little chance of a recurrence.
The treatment took place during late March and April.
In a statement this evening the minister thanked staff at St Luke's Hospital and Cappagh Hospital, where he was treated, and says he will continue to serve in government at Enda Kenny's discretion.
