A woman who was beaten and raped by her husband at their home in the midlands has told his sentence hearing that she was sure her "life was over" during the attack.
Her husband, whoÂ’ is 45 and canÂ’not be named to protect her identity, told Gardaí he just “flipped” after she accused him of being “needy”.
She told Gardaí, that during the attack she started screaming "“Help me God"”, but her husband told her "No God is going to help you".
He admitted assaulting her but denied the rape, a charge he was convicted of in October.
