A cabinet minister has promised that Ireland will take in 'thousands' of asylum seekers currently trying to enter Europe.
Alan Kelly says Ireland has a moral duty to show leadership - especially given its own history of migration.
The environment minister won't give a figure for how many refugees Ireland might accept, but says it will be many times the 600 that Ireland is currently agreed to take in.
