The Minister for Foreign Affairs has urged anyone concerned for Ibrahim Halawa to encourage him not to go on hunger strike.

The Dublin teenager is due back in court this Sunday to face trial over attending a political protest in 2013.

Various reports have emerged during his period in jail of hunger strikes in protest at his ongoing detention.

But Minister Charlie Flanagan says a hunger strike would harm his welfare, and has encouraged him not to pursue one:
