The final regular episode of Mock the Week's still going ahead as planned tonight, despite ongoing political chaos in Britain.

Producers of the long-running comedy show say they're not going to re-record this week's episode to include the British Prime Minister's resignation.

There have been 21 series and more than 200 episodes of the show hosted by comedian Dara O'Briain.

Front-runners are starting to emerge to take over as Prime Minister following Liz Truss's resignation yesterday. It's the second UK Conservative leadership race in just three months.

Penny Mordaunt, Rishi Sunak and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson are all tipped to run any contenders need the backing of at least 100 MPs by Monday.

If more than one candidate qualifies, it'll result in an online vote for Conservative Party members.

The new Prime Minister is expected to be in place by next Friday.
