Monaghan has been found as the county with the highest rate of drink driving - at twice the national average.

New figures from the Irish Independent show one in 20 motorists in Ireland has been caught under the influence over the past ten years.

The second highest rate of detections was found in Cavan, followed by Louth.

The county with the lowest rate was Roscommon.
