Monica Lewinsky has opened up about the #MeToo movement almost twenty years since her affair with the then US President Bill Clinton.
In an essay for Vanity Fair, the former White House intern says it has dawned on her that he was abusing his position of power.
Lewinsky was just 22 when she had an affair with Clinton, the most powerful man in the world and 27 years her senior.
Their relationship was made public during an investigation that eventually led to Clinton’s impeachment for lying under oath about the relationship, among other things. He was later acquitted.
Lewinsky writes that women today rally together to support one another, while 20 years ago she felt alone.
