Further tests are to be carried out on the bodies of a man and a woman found at a house near Askeaton in Co Limerick yesterday.
Post mortems were carried out on the badly decomposed remains last night, but no cause of death was established.
It's understood the couple were found yesterday by burglars in the house.
Gardai say the bodies have yet to be positively identified.
But local reports suggest the remains are those of local farmer Thomas Ruttle who was 56, and 65 year old Julia Holmes, who was wanted by Gardai, the PSNI and the FBI on fraud charges.
Gardai are asking any witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact them at Newcastle West or any garda station.
