The ESB says it hopes to return power to all customers by lunchtime after a major outage this morning.

Storm Gertrude left 10,000 homes and businesses without electricity, with the North-West the worst affected.

Around 4,000 people have been reconnected already, after 130kmph winds battered the country overnight.
