The police were called to a house after a family spotted what they thought was an escaped crocodile in their garden in Plymouth in the UK.

A mother raised the alarm because she feared the 3 foot creature was too dangerous to approach.

So officers from two police stations came - with a team from a local zoo - and threw water over it from a safe distance, but it didn't move.

The crocodile turned out to be an inflatable toy.

The mother said afterwards she's 'absolutely mortified', but was worried for her 3 year old.
