A mother who gave birth at the side of the road after a car crash has thanked passers-by who helped deliver her baby.
The woman drove into a roundabout in Kilkenny on Wednesday night as she went into labour on her way to Saint Luke's Hospital.
Mae Doyle - who happened to be driving by - helped her deliver the child before an ambulance could reach them.
The little girl suffered mild hypothermia but is said to be safe and well today.
She is a healthy seven pounds and has yet to be given a name.
