Gardai are to hold a media briefing in county Mayo this morning where they are expected to launch a murder investigation following a fatal shooting yesterday.
A 26 year-old man died after he was shot a number of times at a service station in Castlebar.
A post mortem examination will be carried out at Mayo General Hospital this morning by the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Michael Curtis.
Gardai have renewed their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
