The leader of a mosque in New York has been shot dead in broad daylight.
The imam and another man were killed on their way home from a prayer service.
Maulama Akonjee (55) and Thara Uddin (64) were shot near their mosque in the Ozone Park neighborhood in Queens.
Police say the pair were shot in the head at close range.
