NAMA has dismissed the latest allegations by independent TD Mick Wallace - who says one official in the agency was part of a "cabal" trying to make money out of the sale of its Northern Ireland loans.

In a statement NAMA said the claims were "scurrilous, unsubstantiated" and "utterly disingenuous".

It also disputes claims that it misled Deputy Wallace in replies to his questions about the sale of the Northern loans - saying he had deliberately misinterpreted its letters.

Using Dáil privilege earlier, the Wexford TD claimed the agency had misled him in replying to written questions where he asked if the named NAMA official had met with "US investment fund personnel".

Wallace said NAMA had untruthfully denied any meetings - though NAMA said it answered correctly and that Wallace's comments today were a "deliberate misrepresentation" of the situation.
