The Government's National Co-Ordination Group will meet this morning to assess the damage in the wake of yesterday's storm.
Winds of over 160 kilometres per hour battered the country yesterday - with the South and West the worst affected areas.
The storm brought down power lines, tore roofs off houses and blocked transport links across the country.
Transport Minister Leo Varadkar says the government will begin the task of co-ordinating a response to the storm this morning.
