France's National Front has failed to take control of any regions in the second round of the country's elections last night.

That's despite Marine Le Pen's far-right group picking up more votes nationally than any other party last week.

The former president Nicolas Sarkozy's conservatives could end up as the big winners with 7 of the 13 regions.

The result could help him return to power in 2017 and he's delighted.
