A fresh earthquake in Nepal has triggered landslides and sent people running from buildings.

The country's government has confirmed at least 36 deaths and around one-thousand injuries.

Nepal has been struggling for the last two and a half weeks to get to grips with the scale of the devastation of a previous quake in which more than 8,000 people died.

The 7.3 magnitude quake hit near Mount Everest, and was measured at a shallow depth of about 12 miles.

 

As it struck Politicians in the Nepal's Parliament Chamber fled to safety mid debate.

  

The epicenter has been identified as 40 miles west of Namche Bazaar, a remote area near the Tibet border.
