After four days of talks, a new cabinet is set to be unveiled this morning.

Enda Kenny and Joan Burton met last night to put the finishing touches to the new cabinet, having already signed off on a policy document outlining the new government's priorities.

It took four days for Fine Gael and Labour's leaders to agree on a wide-ranging policy document, outlining where they see their government going for the next 18 months.

It's understood to include pledges to revive the construction of social housing, and will include Joan Burton's proposals for a 'low wage commission' to investigate the prospect of raising the minimum wage.

It's understood the document will also deal with how some current government departments will be split - and it's expected that briefs like Defence and Heritage could be merged, as well as Transport, Tourism and Trade.

But last night the two leaders were set to deal with the final item on the new government's agenda: the names of the new ministers themselves.

Those names will have to go to the Dáil for official approval - but with the Daíl due to sit for 10 hours today, it's almost certain that the new cabinet will be in place by the close of business, and possibly even by lunchtime.
