British Prime Minister Theresa May has appointed a new Northern Ireland Secretary.
James Brokenshire is a former Minister for Security and Immigration.
Earlier, his predecessor Theresa Villiers announced she would not continue in government, after she turned down the offer of a different cabinet position.
Announcing her departure from government Ms Villiers said: "Northern Ireland and its people will always have a very special place in my heart and I am confident that progress will continue to be made to embed peace, stability and prosperity there."
Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan has congratulated the new Secretary of State.
He says he'd welcome an early meeting with Mr Brokenshire.
Delighted and honoured to have been asked by the Prime Minister to serve as Northern Ireland Secretary in her new Government.
