Iraqi forces have started a new military assault to retake the city of Fallujah from Islamic State.

It's 40 miles west of Baghdad and has been under I-S control for more than two years.

Iraq's prime minister announced the start of the offensive, which follows widespread territorial gains by Iraqi ground troops in recent months.
