David Cameron's facing further embarrassment this morning in excerpts of a book published by Lord Ashcroft in the Daily Mail.

The former Tory donor claims the prime minister's leadership on military action in the Middle East has been questioned by a defence chief, and White House staff.

Downing Street has already said it wouldn't dignify the book with a comment.

Co-author Isabel Oakeshott insists it's not a biased publication.
