New standards have been published for health professionals dealing with parents experiencing the loss of a pregnancy or a perinatal death.
All hospitals will have to establish or improve Bereavement Specialist Teams to support parents
For the first time, all hospitals will have to give detailed information to parents who choose to terminate the pregnancy abroad.
Counselling will also be offered to women and their families after a diagnosis of life limiting conditions.
