One of the Dail's newest members is urging people to boycott paying their water charges.

Paul Murphy, who won the Dublin South West bye-election, says people shouldn't pay their bill when it arrives in January.

The Socialist Party TD campaigned in the election on an anti-water charges agenda.

Between 50,000 and 100,000 people demonstrated in Dublin city centre at the weekend, in opposition to the new levy.
